I think I understand what’s happening but I can’t do it. You use your hand to twist the pony end and then wrap that twist around the original loop. But maybe my hair isn’t long enough.

Yeaaaa no. I have extremely thick long hair. The hair tie won’t even come off my wrist after the twist-and I use the stretchy-spiral hair ties.
